Motley Festival
Manto Ismat Hazir Hain is a presentation of Hindustani short stories that centre around the word ‘obscene’. Boo by Manto and Lihaaf by Ismat Chughtai were tried for obscenity and roundly condemned by self-righteous custodians of morality when they were originally written. These will be presented along with Ismat Apa’s account of the trial and another Manto story, The Dog of Titwal.
