Laura Dutta’s father is a retired Wing Commander LK Dutta and her mother is Jennifer. She has two sisters. She did her Twelfth standard from Frank Anthony Public School, Bangalore and has a degree in Economics from Mumbai University.
In 1997, Lara won the Miss Gladrags competition, leading her to represent India at the Miss Intercontinental. Later, she was crowned Femina Miss India Universe and Miss Universe in the year 2000 in Cyprus.
She made her film debut in 2003 with the film Andaaz.
She then appeared in a number of films, some of which include Masti, Kaal, No Entry and Partner.
She is also a part of the hit comedy Bhagam Bhag.
At the beginning of this year she starred in Shaad Ali's Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.
Her latest film, Partner, was a runaway hit.
