Zayed Khan is the son of Bollywood actor Sanjay Khan and Zarine. His sisters are Simone, Farah and Suzanne. His sister Susanne is married to Hrithik Roshan.
Zayed completed his schooling from the Welham Boys School, Dehradun. He later studied at the Kodaikanal International School.
His dream of becoming an actor took its roots early on at the age of 8 years, when Zayed first went to the sets of Kaala Dhanda Gore Log. From that day, he was clear that he wanted to become an actor.
Zayed's debut was Chura Liya Hai Tumne (2000) opposite Esha Deol. The film did not do well but his acting talent was appreciated.
Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Na (2004), with Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen and Amrita Rao, won him a nomination in the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor category. In 2004, Khan went touring with an international stage show, Rockstars. Esha Deol, John Abraham, Shahid Kapur, Mallika Sherawat, and Salman Khan were some of the other stars who were a part of this show.
Zayed married his childhood sweetheart, Malaika, on November 20, 2005.
