This was all of 10–12 years ago when Ms World 1994, Aishwarya Rai, had just returned from her world tour. She was promoting the Pepsi brand and was visiting our restaurateur friend's home for the same.

The whole street was flooded with people who'd come to catch a glimpse of Ms Rai. My husband, daughter, son and I had the chance of our lifetime to meet the now Mrs Bachchan Jr!

And were we excited? Believe me, very much so. Ash was just too beautiful and she glowed like a neon light. My kids excitedly took her autograph. She drew the heart symbol and signed 'Ash'. We all shook hands with the beauty queen and posed for photos, and came away with the feeling of having visited royalty!
