It happened a few years ago when filmmaker Mani Rathnam was shooting a major portion of his film Yuva in Kolkata with Vivek Oberoi and Kareena Kapoor in the busy locations of the city. A Hindi film fan would have immediately recognised her, but for an average Kolkatan, she was just another actress. My friend and I were out on a shopping spree in New Market, one of the popular landmarks in Kolkata. Suddenly, as we realised a pretty face buying a huge make-up kit next to us, much to the excitement of the shopkeeper. Our joys knew no bounds as we realized it was Kareena Kapoor herself.

She had entered the shop without make-up and was dressed in a pair of jeans and a simple T-shirt. To our surprise, no one actually recognised her. Containing my excitement, I went up to her and asked her if she would be shooting in the city for long. Kareena replied, "Yes, I will be here for another week. I would have loved to invite you on the sets, but I really can't because of the tight security." She has already made my day, but I wonder if Kareena is still as good to her fans!!
