MTV Roadies 5.0: Best finale ever
It was the last episode of Hero Honda MTV Roadies 5.0 and I wasn’t about to miss it. Equipped with a tall glass of cola and a huge tub of popcorn, I took my place on the couch 15 minutes before the scheduled time. I switched to MTV and discovered the scrolls were a million times more entertaining than the show on air.
Such as "What do you get when Sonel stands on Khali’s shoulders? – 15 feet of stupid." I was absolutely hooked as the little purple scroll went on to make wise cracks about Sonel, Ankita aka Simran and finally Nihal.
It's really sad that it’ll be a whole year before MTV Roadies comes out with a new season. Regardless, 5.0 The Game Goes International was definitely their best yet.
The air of anticipation on the show evaporated the day Simran was voted out. Subsequently Sonel also lost, after which the final winner became irrelevant. But the action, drama and adventure on the show didn't suffer at all as the organisers in a quadruple whammy brought ALL the contestants back to help Nihal and Aashu in their final task.
Must say, in an evil sort of way I actually enjoyed that nothing had changed within the group. As the Roadies began confronting each other it didn't surprise me at all that Shambhavi's taddle-tailing to Anmol backfired on her.
Regardless, the final task was the best and most priceless of them all as the final two were asked to pick any five Roadies except Sonel to be in their team. In an unexpected twist, Raghu came in and foiled their plans by swapping their teams completely!
Surely none of the Roadies expected him to do that but they weren't about to argue with him. Raghu made it absolutely clear that he disapproved of both of them as winners and couldn't fathom how they'd had reached the final stage.
