Surfing Sara: MTV's Splitsvilla
There is no saying when the moral police spot this one even as some women's groups have begun protesting against the format. MTV's new reality show, Splitsvilla has replaced the hugely popular Roadies, which drew to a conclusion recently.
Splitsvilla is where some 20 girls are pitted against each other as they try to woo two guys in a luxury resort in Goa. When the girls are not in the pool in swimwear trying to seduce the guys Vishal and Varun (some tantalising underwater shots happen here), they are lounging around or doing a belly dance or cooking up choicest abuses in a do or dare.
Needless to say, the girls are mostly dressed in teeny-weeny clothes and seem to give the word 'bimbette' a new definition when they open their mouths. The boys are mostly grinning or salivating at the girls, and their in-camera confessionals (a staple of all reality shows) are bizarrely comical, unintentionally.
But who cares. I bet there are thousands of guys out there who would love to be in their shoes, and Rannvijay, the affable host seems to be having a blast on Splitsvilla. Guess analysing the seduction charms of nubile young things is much better than setting tasks for aggressive young males and cussing girls.
How Splistvilla scores:
Eye-Candy; plenty, from girls in tights to girls in bikinis, to girls in frilly mini skirts…take your pick. The two boys are not bad either.
Format: Nothing original here, it is a rip-off of a number of international shows aired earlier.
Substance: Are you serious? With 20 women making a fool of themselves trying to win the hearts of two boys wearing MTV gear and toothpaste grins, you can safely leave your brains behind.
Verdict: 2.5 stars only, as the girls may have great legs but not really great lookers!
This show is good to watch only if there's nothing interesting going on in the television...... This show has brought b4 us such a boring concept... I mean, how on earth can anyone choose love on television, and tht too one has to choose a girl frm the 20 of them who have not got anything good to do in life! What a great way to get publicity! I would suggest them all to do something concrete to get famous, rather than opting such a weird way! It's a big time crap!

Its one of the worst shows on mtv! I mean its ridiculous that the two (dumb) guys will find their "soul-mate" on the show !!! And we have 20 .. Yes 20 dumber girls who also think the same!! Wow!!! Enjoy ... I am amazed to see how people like to make fun of themselves on the tv (which is watched by millions) for something that is so petty and ridiculous!!!!!!!
its a perfect example of "pagal logon ki kami nahi hai is duniya mein ... 1 dhundo, hazaaron mil jate hai" and btw, where is the moral police now?
The format id really stupid and the girls are really dumb.Who would really want to demeant themseleves infront of the whole country and get dumped by two morons who themselves do not ahve an iota of brains.According to them they are really looking forward to finding true love here...Whom are u kidding dude..Its national television for god's sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
