The virtuous Karan and the villainous bahus
Koffee With Karan (Star World) presented Anil Kapoor and Akshaye Khanna.
Anil Kapoor continues to be popular with both box-office and the critics. He's still busy with acting assignments though his daughter will be making her debut soon. Karan brought out an endearing side of the actor; Anil’s a perfect family man, a good husband and a good father; he’s given up cigarettes till the release of daughter Sonam’s film Sawariya.
Even after working with all the top heroines and he's managed to stay clear of controversies. He did admit it's more of a cover up job as he also has his faults and vices.
To Karan's question, Aamir, Salman, Shahrukh, or Hritik – who's the better actor; for the first time in these sessions, an actor came up with a salvo that it would not be right to compare Hritik with the other three as he still had a long way to go. So Anil managed to successfully skirt the issue. It was obvious the actor came to the set with his homework duly completed.
Akshaye Khanna on the other hand, was very spontaneous but was often unable to answer the questions. He came across as a very frank and honest person, sometimes blunt to the point of embarrassment. Maybe a soft corner for his recent heroine but otherwise not much of a love life to talk about.
One wonders at this strange pairing on Karan's show. After all, the body language, especially of Anil Kapoor, showed that he'd rather it was an exclusive. I think having Jackie Shroff on the show would have been more appropriate since the two have appeared together in many a film.
