Aamir-SRK swap roles

The two superstars seem to have exchanged roles in real life

In the early 90s when Bollywood was going through a crisis thanks to ageing heroes and shoddy action flicks, three actors (who shared a common last name) burst onto the screen and redefined trends forever. While Salman Khan has always been doing his own thing, Aamir and Shah Rukh successfully pushed boundaries and gave Bollywood some of its most memorable films.

For many years Aamir Khan was considered to be the serious, selective actor while SRK was always admired for his marketing genius. One was the method actor the other was the superstar. And this was the case for more than a decade. Both have given Bollywood some of its biggest hits but as SRK himself said "Aamir will be remembered for his films but mine will always make more money".

The last few months have however seen a role reversal of sorts. While SRK has practically gone underground, Aamir on the contrary is more visible than ever before.

One film at a time…

Then: For many years Aamir followed the 'one film at a time' policy. To the extent that post Lagaan and Dil Chahta Hai when any other actor would have gone on a signing spree, Aamir chose to take a four-year long sabbatical to focus on The Rising. SRK on the other hand consistently delivered blockbusters lapping up dozens of Best Actor awards.

IN PICS: SRK talks money

Now: Today it's been nearly a year since his smash hit Om Shanti Om but there is no sign of King Khan's next release. We know he is doing a cameo in Billoo Barber. But all his energies are focused on Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi which is not expected to open before 2009. Aamir on the other hand, is all set to storm the box office with Ghajini and has already started shooting for Raj Kumar Hirani's 3 Idiots. Plus there are talks about rolling a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna and a thriller to be produced by him. Clearly, we are going to see more of Aamir than ever before.

Not a interesting article...Everyone knows time bring changes..An change is unavoidable..Yestrday shahrukh doing lot of movies and aamir taking rest..Now he is doing lot of work and shahrukh doing couple of movies and taking care of his family...Now aamir has success in whatever he is doing..Acting,directing,producing..So he is enjoy successand with media too..If he likes to speak to media or not thats his choice..Same apply to shahrukh...Both have a loyal fan base..So ,no competion..Whoever make a news of competion just wanna sell the news..I just read the news today aamir is joinning shahrukh tour..I donno its true or not..But is's so then its good for viewers...

Srk has won lot of awards only becoz of his overacting abilities.Aamir khan is the best

Srk should retire fast and hide from the world immediately otherwise his amazing wrinkles and ugliness will be more apparent in some months. And then the people who benefit financially from him will have to praise him more to supress his insecurities and under-confidence.

Maybe he is not saying anything because he is afraid of aamir and salman. And oh yes, hahrukh and dignity dont go hand in hand at all.

The facts written about above may be correct but film industry is not all about making money or making only meaningful cinema. I like aamir as an actor as he is very versetile. But same is not true for sharukh, he is bound only to romantic roles. Chak de is the only exception. These two actors play safe so may be success rate is high. There is another quotient called entertainment which is utmost important for majority of the ppl in india. I think salman fits right here. Also look at his career graph where he has not grown alone rather helped others also to grow along. That too against all odds without any manipulation, politics or use of media. Both srk (uses ppl also ) and aamir use media for their favour always. As for popular awards, no need to comment at all. All are sold for highest bidders :-) . How many of our top actors support new talents and help them grow in the industry. In any field, growing alone using all the strong support is easy and gives more success in no time. But growing without any strong support and helping others need more courage and efforts. This may not give quick success but it will be long lasting one and a true success. When you achieve success thru latter approach it gives immense satisfaction that is unparalled and any amount of fame/money can buy this. Hope all established actors nurture young talents also along with themselves.
