Sanjay Dutt was not even 30 when he married Richa Sharma. Even after he became a father nothing really changed for Sanjay. His wild ways really got to his wife so when Trishala was a really small baby Richa went back to the US. Initially her family had lashed out at Sanjay Dutt for being an indifferent father.
But Trishala has really had a raw deal in life. She lost her mother to cancer and fell back on her father for emotional support if nothing else. But her father apparently is in no mood to play the responsible adult. Try to recollect the moments when Dutt speaks of his daughter Trishala. Nine times out of ten these are moments when his own legal problems are getting the better of him.
Just a few months ago all we saw on TV was Dutt waxing eloquent about his responsibilities towards his daughter. He needed to earn money for her education; he could not be an adequate father if he was in prison. And the world at large believed him. But today the situation is different. Manyata seems to be Dutt’s pre-occupation and Trishala has been relegated to the background.
Being a parent and gaining public sympathy from people are two different things. All over the world it is kids who use their parents. But in rare instances the reverse is also true. A fact, which poor Trishala has probably learnt the hard way!
