India's bestselling author Chetan Bhagat is making his presence felt in the Indian entertainment industry. His two books Five Point Someone and One Night at the Call Centre are being made into films by Rajkumar Hirani and Atul Agnihotri titled Idiot and Hello respectively.

Chetan was in Mumbai to launch his third novel Three Mistakes of My Life and he feels that adaptations are the future of Indian cinema.

"Adaptations are the future in India. In Hollywood more than 100 books are adaptations. In India, too, we have seen adaptations like Devdas, Parineeta and Guide. So it works sometimes and it doesn't sometimes. But clearly Bollywood is saying ‘we don’t have enough stories so why not take it from the Indian literature'," Chetan said.

The book's launch saw the presence of Sharman Joshi and Atul Agnihotri from the Hello movie team, who along with Chetan read some extracts from his book.

We asked Chetan if he was worried about how his books will finally turn out on the big screen.

To which Chetan said, "I am not a worrying kind of guy. As long as the people are competent and they present a fun story I will enjoy it as much. I am not here to make sure it's on a one-on-one basis form the book to film. It shouldn’t be. It should be Bollywood like I want Salman to take off his shirt in Hello. It’s all happening and yet it’s keeping the essence of the book."

And if no one's complaining, then this one will surely be a happy ending.
