BOX OFFICE: Hits and misses
Box office is always full of surprises. There are instances of big-budget films opening to a dull response and there are films that surprise you as well. With a decent weekend in hand, the investors are hopeful that the next fare would reach the safety mark. An average fare, at least. So far in 2008, over 20 films have released. Out of these, only two films – Jodhaa Akbar and Race could make a mark. We spoke to some trade pundits and analysts to figure the quarterly box office report. Let's take a look...
What the trade pundits say
So far, the worst hit have been the exhibitors, who've suffered losses because of the regular fights between producers and distributors. Manoj Desai of the G-7 Complex rues, "Jodhaa Akbar and Race were the two good grossers till date. The producers and distributors are still minting money. Distributors are now pinning their hopes on two big films, Jaideep Sen's Krazzy 4 [REVIEW: Krazzy 4 is just not krazzy enough] and Ajay Devgan's U Me Aur Hum [REVIEW: Why U Me Aur Hum works]."
J Popat, general manager, Janata Film Distributors seems to echo Desai's views. He says, "Only two films, Jodhaa Akbar and Race managed to do good business so far. But the success of these films cannot be compared to hits like Krrish, Dhoom 2, Fanaa, Om Shanti Om or Welcome. Race has done excellent business in Pakistan. But the bookings of Krazzy 4 and U Me Aur Hum are not up to the mark. Reports have been positive about upcoming films like Tashan, Bhoothnath and Love Story 2050. But the surprise of the year could be Mithun's Don Muthuswamy."

Does dropping a "hetch" make you god? When will north indian realize that they don't lay down the rules.
Man, it is not "bhoothnath".. Its "bhootnath".. Wen wud u south indians lose that "hetch"??? Lol..
