It's Aamir Vs Amitabh Vs Anurag...
Settling the score
Take the case of Anurag Kashyap who hits out at a veteran film critic who panned No Smoking. "Ch**ia, tu retire ho ja. Tera time khatam!" (You don't want that translated believe us!)
Much like AK (as he is best known) debutante director Manish Tiwari also wrote about the critics who reviewed his first film Dil Dosti Etc. But unlike the 'arrogant' Anurag, newbie Manish chose to merely quote the reviews rather than get into expletives and rub the critics the wrong way.
Onir in his blog too tries to ward off comparisons of his latest film Sorry Bhai's to Dan in Real Life. He writes "I know everyone has been telling me about Dan in Real Life… have to make time and see it… but honestly its stopped bothering me…. because I know where I come from and trust my writer when he told me he has not seen the film."
If rumours are to be believed, Ram Gopal Varma is also about to start his personal blog and is apparently also on Orkut. Farhan Akhtar is hosting a 'Rock On' community on Facebook. Director Neeraj Pathak is blogging on buzz18.com as is Bhoothnath director Vivek Sharma.
Tashan too has a community each on Orkut, Facebook, YouTube and Myspace respectively. And it is believed that YashRaj will do the same for all its forthcoming movies. What's more, an eager fan has started a Facebook group for Drona already.
Whether or not these films work at the box office is perhaps irrelevant because practically no films make losses these days. As YashRaj would say it is about 'The ishtyle… the goodluck… and the pharmoola!' And sure enough most of our celeb bloggers seem to have got it right.
