Will Kismat Konnection charm the box-office?

Since last week's release, Mehbooba proved to be a damp squib at the box-office windows, Bollywood trade circles have now set their eyes on this Friday's big release Kismat Konnection.

The film is the most awaited film for many reasons. First, Aziz Mirza has returned to direction after five years, his last directorial venture being Chalte Chalte. Second, this movie has generated a lot of expectations because it is Shahid Kapoor's first release after last year's hit Jab We Met, in which he was paired with ex-love Kareena Kapoor. Third is the first-time pairing of Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan. The other attractions of the movie are the presence of Juhi Chawla and the voiceover given by Shah Rukh Khan.

So, will Shahid's kismat stay with him through this release without Kareena? Will his pairing with Vidya Balan work equally well for the both? Let's see what the trade has to say. [What is wrong with Shahid?]

Abhijit Mhamunkar, journalist and film critic, feels the Jaane Tu…hangover will benefit Kismat Konnection. Says he, "Kismat Konnection is being awaited by the younger audience. It will definitely get a bumper opening just like Jaane Tu…. The promos are giving a feel-good romantic comedy feel and this film will definitely be a good follow up for those who have enjoyed Jaane Tu…."

Mhamunkar also feels, "Shahid's popularity amongst females has raised manifold post Jab We Met and they will throng to cinema halls. Moreover, his onscreen chemistry with Vidya Balan also seems to be working big time. Vidya too had never looked this better before. Though older than Shahid, their age difference doesn't show on screen at least."
