Welcome to Buzz18.com. We have with us today a man who has suddenly found himself in the spotlight after he played Jodhaa's wronged brother Sujamal in Jodhaa Akbar. Sonu Sood, welcome to Buzz18.com. [Watch the interview on buzz tv]

First thing's first, how have you reacted to the success of Jodhaa Akbar?

It's a dream come true. And when after shooting for a film for almost two years it gets appreciated and does well, you cannot ask for anything more. We are all enjoying the success. It is a high all of us are experiencing right now!

Did you expect to receive such a warm response to your role in the film?

Of course! I remember the day I met Ashutosh and he narrated the script to me. He told me that I was playing the main thread in the film. It's a very important role. And when I read the script I realised how important Sujamal was.

Ashutosh Gowariker says that the reason he picked you was because you have a certain melancholy about you, which is quite characteristic of Sujamal. Why are you so melancholic?

(Smiles) I don't know. Maybe that is his reason. When I met him for the first time he told me he loved me in Yuva and even in Aashiq Banaya Apne. And when he wrote the script, he could just imagine me saying all those lines. It is a blessing if someone like Ashutosh thinks like this about you. Besides, I could connect with Sujamal, the way he was possessive about his sister and how he fought for his rights. [MUST WATCH: Face-to-Face with the Jodhaa Akbar director]

It is believed that your role in Shaheed-e-Azam got you this film. When was the last time you watched that film?

I saw it about 20 days ago. It is a film that's close to me. I read many books during the making of the film. I enjoyed being part of the film. It has been one of the most important roles in my career.
