Working with Ajay is great: Kajol
Kajol is one of the most well-versed actresses of our time. And always brimming with energy. As the eve approaches for her next release U, Me Aur Hum, directed by hubby Ajay Devgan, we took the opportunity to catch up with her for a few insights into the plot, her plans and most importantly her take on the industry
Q: Were you the obvious choice for the role in U, Me Aur Hum considering Ajay directed it?
Kajol: Well, I don't know about that but when we were initially looking at the script I saw how the plot was progressing. And I just knew that I wanted to be part of the movie.
Q: So, was another heroine even considered for the role?
Kajol: (Laughs) Well, I didn't really give them a choice...
Q: Do you think the writers always had you in mind?
Kajol: You know, I don't think they were thinking about anyone in particular. Even when we considered the film it was extremely objective. I can hardly say we were thinking of who to pick before we even picked it, right?
Q: Can you tell us just briefly what the plot entails?
Kajol: I really can't reveal any of the plot right now. All I can say is that the film is about three couples, their relationships and what happens when you forget to work on them. It's about the fact that every relationship is different and how feeding it everyday will help it work in the long run.
Q: Any similarities between your onscreen and off-screen characters?
Kajol: You know, the film is completely fictional. There is no part of it that reflects our real life. Yes, the principle behind it is something we believe in. But it is entirely a fiction.
