Babul is ready with next, 'UNTITLED'
Babul Supriyo is on a roll. The singer, who has pretty much been out of the limelight for a while, is back and how! Babul surprised everybody by acting in a Bengali film recently. A regular face on TV now, one can catch him hosting a reality show, K for Kishore, on Sony. Babul will soon be out with his new indipop album, UNTITLED, in February. The singer-turned-actor talks about his new innings…
You made a dramatic entry as a host in K for Kishore (Sony) even after NDTV Imagine filed a petition against you for breach of contract. How did you make it possible?
Babul: The matter is sub-judice. I think I should not comment on anything at this stage. As of now, I am hosting K for Kishore and also doing Dhoom Macha De.
Would you like to comment on your alleged tiff with your co-host Rajeshwari Sachdev on the sets of K for Kishore?
Babul: I have learnt to take everything in life with a pinch of salt. Rajeshwari and I are quite cordial on the sets. I have hosted music shows before, but for a Bengali channel. I took this up as a challenge. Since I need to converse a lot more in Hindi and also be spontaneous at the same time, Rajeshwari helps me a lot in my endeavour. She has been very supportive all through. I wonder how these rumours start.
How does it feel, now that you are part of the high-voltage drama that goes on in any reality show?
Babul: Certain things are unavoidable and if one looks at it closely, it's all about marketing and selling your product with an aim to earn profit. And believe me, drama sells on the small screen. Or else, why would the saas-babu sagas run so successfully for more than five years? The only thing, I dislike about reality shows is the voting system. According to me, leaving the final verdict on audience polls is not right. Indians are emotional and often get carried away. Chances are they get biased and take wrong decisions.

I am a big babul fan and its really nice to see him back in the limelight again.
i wish him all the best for his acting career as well.
thanks a lot for writing abt him jaya!
