Siddartha Basu, through his company Synergy Adlabs is back on Star Plus with a winning combination of quizzing, loads of moolah to be raked and the irresistible Shah Rukh Khan in the host's seat. We speak to the suave Basu to know more about his show Kya aap Paanchvi Pass se tez hain? Excerpts

Tell us briefly about Kya Aap Paachvi Pass Se Tez Hain?

Kya aap Paanchvi Pass se tez hain? (briefly called Paanchvi Pass) is adapted from an international quiz show called Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader? As the title suggests, the show intends to challenge grown-ups if they really are as smart as they think they are. If they ace the challenge, they have a large booty to take back.

And what made you ponder on this aspect and bring this show to India?

For starters, I got interested in the concept because we all claim to be really smart and intelligent but throw a question whose answer can be found in a fifth grader's textbook and we are baffled beyond our wits. So, I thought it'd be interesting to see how the audience here reacts to this show; as also, the show is an endeavour to help parents/adults take kids more seriously than they do. I truly believe that kids are more intelligent and alert than adults – it's just that they are not taken too seriously. This show will make adults revere kids a little more.
