Akshay's film sells for Rs 13.5 crore
Akshay Kumar is a super khiladi when it comes to selling his movies. We all remember how he had beaten SRK when his Mumbai Territory was sold by Studio 18 to Ramesh Sippy's Raksha Distributors for Rs 8.5 crore as opposed to the King Khan's Om Shanti Om that was sold by Eros to Shree Ashtavinayak for only Rs 8 crore.
This time he has beaten both SRK and Aamir Khan hands down. The audio rights for his latest film Singh Is Kinng was sold to Junglee Music for a whopping Rs 13.5 crore. This is the highest price ever in Bollywood history. SRK's Om Shanti Om was sold to T-Series for only Rs 7 crore and Aamir's Ghajini was bought by T-Series for Rs 8.5 crore.
Anees who is directing Singh Is Kinng confirming the news said, "Yes, its true. The music has been acquired by Junglee Music for a record Rs 13.5 crore, the highest ever for an Indian film. Also Mumbai was sold to Ramesh Sippy's Raksha Distributors for Rs 10 crore. It's a coincidence that both are my films. This music deal is an acknowledgement of Akshay's status as a superstar."
Singh is Kinng is scheduled to release on August 8 and also stars Katrina Kaif, Sonu Sood, Ranvir Shorey and Neha Dhupia.
