Imtiaz Ali to direct Akshay Kumar?
Jab We Met director Imtiaz Ali has roped in Akshay Kumar for his next venture, to be produced by Vipul Shah. It will be the producer's fifth movie with his favourite Akshay Kumar, and definitely, their unmistakable rapport will work in the film’s favour.
However, when contacted, Imtiaz was reluctant to talk about it. "Talks are definitely going on with Akshay Kumar. Right now, we are working on the script. We are yet to decide the title and rest of the star cast," is all he was willing to say.
The director left for Bangkok and will be shooting for Saif Ali Khan's home production, Illuminati Films Pvt Ltd. The film, written by Imtiaz himself will star Saif and Deepika Padukone in the lead. It was on Kareena Kapoor's insistence that Saif signed the director for his home production but the director preferred Deepika Padukone opposite Saif instead of Kareena.
Imtiaz whose first film Socha Na Tha did not do well at the box-office, has also been in the news for his Pepsi commercials featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor.
