Nearly a year after release, Sohail Khan has filed a case against Eros International over the revenue sharing of their blockbuster hit Partner. According to Mumbai Mirror it is believed Sohail Khan Productions had sold the distribution rights of the film to Eros way back in October 2006. The terms of the deal involved a Rs 30 crore investment by Eros, whereas the profits would be shared equally by joint producers - Sohail Khan and K-Sera Sera and Eros.

In his complaint to the Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Association (IMPPA), Sohail has accused Eros of non-payment of profit share and misappropriation of funds. Sohail adds that post release, Eros had acknowledged the bumper response to the film and insists the distributors have made a neat profit on the film.

When contacted Sunil Lulla, Executive director and president, Eros International denied having received any notice. He told the tabloid that he did not interact much with Sohail Khan regarding the distribution of Partner. "The other producers, K Sera Sera and I are on very good terms and have no problems," Lulla said.

IMPPA Secretary Anil Nagarath has however confirmed Sohail Khan's complaint and claims to have forwarded the same to Eros. But the man who started it all, Sohail Khan was unavailable for comment.

A few weeks back T Series and Ram Gopal Varma had got into similar spat over audio/video rights of their forthcoming film Sarkar Raj. That matter has however been settled.

On the other hand Eros International has issued a clarification in this regard. It says, "In response to the media report on Eros International not paying the due share to Sohail Khan Productions regarding the film Partner – 'Partner-ship Gone Wrong' – Mumbai Mirror dated May 12, 2008, Eros International clarifies that it had an agreement with Mr Parag Sanghvi of K Sera Sera Productions and has duly fulfilled all its commitments as per the contract between the two companies and no issues exist between them.
