On the sets with Shahid and Vidya
For some Bollywood stars, 2007 hasn’t changed in comparison to 2008. But some made it big in 2007 and are currently on a roll namely Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan. Aziz Mirza’s film Kismat Konnection is ready for release and both his stars Vidya Balan and Shahid Kapoor are riding the wave of success. Aziz Mirza doesn’t really need to promote his film. It’s perfect timing for Kismat Konnection.
The city is facing an incessant downpour and the roads leading to Film City are virtually submerged. But the die-hard journos bravely wade through water desperately seeking the 30-second byte from the stars that are getting more elusive by the day.
There is a promotional video being shot and Vidya Balan is hard at work. Dancing is not one of her core skills and given the posse of media people she’s a trifle self-conscious. But she’s struggling with her steps and her smile is intact. An hour after the appointed time the sets are swarming with cameramen, journalists, and photographers. But apart from a fleeting glimpse of Shahid Kapoor, there is no sign of him. Apparently he’s ensconced in his vanity van meeting up with a few 'select' journalists. The rest of the people are simply cooling their heels on the sets.
Three hours later Shahid returns to the set. But by this time Vidya complains her outfit is crushed and retires to her vanity van. The outfit is sent for ironing. But coming back to Vidya’s attire. Ms Balan could really do with a new designer. Her black patent leather skirt has some metallic belts hanging from it. And the icing on the cake is the black tights she sports under her skirt, which only accentuates her thighs. Guess one more 'nariyal' award is on its way.
Maybe Shahid Kapoor is going Vidya's way. Because he sports blue satin sashes on his trousers and shoes in the same colour. Let’s hope the effect is not too disastrous on screen.
Four hours into the event and Shahid spares five minutes to address the media. He still hasn’t taken to the dance floor. At which point we take a decision to leave. After all, when the superstar of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan makes it a point to be punctual, the rash brash pack need to take a leaf out of his book.
Ooo...Touchy! Looks like some journalists doesn't like shahid at all...
why blame the poor guy from shying away from the media. Last few months must have been hell for him, constantly pointing camera at him at award function to see his reaction on kareena's performance or constantly talking about him and kareena and the break up. Even us fans think that let him be. We just enjoy his films and are not interested in his personal life. Its time the media stops harassing him. The image of his crying face at starmax awards is still fresh in my memory, feel so bad for him.
plus the constant saif kareena media attention these days, no wonder sahid wants to stay as far away from media as possible.....You go shahid, we still love you heaps!!!
