Preity: Movies are my first love
CNN-IBN's Rajeev Masand catches up with Preity Zinta at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival and gets her talking about cricket, controversies and her new look.
Rajeev Masand: You look lovely. Tell us what you are wearing.
Preity Zinta: The dress is Alberta Ferretti.
Rajeev Masand: Was it difficult being away from your team - Punjab Kings XI that’s been performing rather well?
Preity Zinta: Yes, I am keeping my fingers crossed. They have been performing really well. But it's (being away) not that difficult because I am going back on the May 18 for the match in Delhi and I am quite excited. I am learning a lot about cricket.
Rajeev Masand: What do you make of the Bhajji-Sreesath episode?
Preity Zinta: The matter went to the ICC and the code of conduct says that when the matter goes to them, no one is supposed to comment on it. But it was very unfortunate. We all like Harbhajan Singh a lot and I am sure everything will work out.
Rajeev Masand: So you are a cricket girl now. We've lost you to sport, have we?
Preity Zinta: No. I think movies will be my first love. You will never lose me to sport. But yes, I have started enjoying the game and understanding it. It's not just someone throwing a ball and someone hitting it. There's a lot of hard work and technique going into it.
