Rahul Bose's next set for US release
The film also marks Santosh Sivan's English debut
Rahul Bose and Nandita Das team up for cinematographer, director Santosh Sivan's debut English film Before The Rains. Set in 1937 Kerela the film has the country's growing nationalist movement as its backdrop to a story of an illicit affair and one man's friendship with a British road builder.
Lionus Roach plays Henry More plays an English businessman who enlists the help of a local - Teekay played by Bose to build a road for the feasibility of his plan to start a spice plantation at a particular site. But when Henry's relationship with a married woman is discovered Teekay faces a dilemma.
Having done the rounds of the festival circuit, Before The Rains now opens in the US on May 9.
