Roshans and their history of controversies?
Rakesh Roshan is a harried man these days. After paying out a huge settlement to music maker Ram Sampath in court, he is trying to clear his name and reputation. Full-page advertisements have appeared in various newspapers where Rakesh Roshan has clarified that he had due permission from Sony, he did not deliberately lift the tune etc, etc. Unfortunately for Roshan, given the short and decisive battle in Mumbai High Court, audience sympathy seems to be with Ram Sampath.
Who is Rakesh Roshan?
To most people Rakesh Roshan is Hrithik Roshan’s father. But what people don’t realise is that Rakesh Roshan comes from one of the first families of Bollywood. His father Roshan Sr was a well-known music director in his time. His father-in-law J Om Prakash was a famous producer in his own right. In fact when Rakesh Roshan took up direction everybody thought it would be for his father-in-law. But despite Pinky Roshan being the only daughter Rakesh Roshan ventured into production on his own and not ride piggyback on his father-in-law’s shoulders.
And he never hesitated to take risks. His film career has never run on a smooth course. He would deliver a super hit like Khoon Bhari Maang, which would be followed by a dud like Kala Bazaar. And then he would mortgage all his property to raise funds for the next film. In fact, just before Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, he made Koyla which cost him dearly. For Kaho… he was deeply in debt and everything depended on the success of the film. Thankfully, Hrithik Roshan became the new teen sensation and Rakesh Roshan was secure for life.

Rajesh roshan's "main tera hun jaanam" from khoon bhari maang, in which we see kabir bedi and sonu walia jig, was a complete rip-off job from a english film theme music. Now claiming high moral grounds doesnt help!
Rakesh roshan and his brother are the biggest cheats going around. While rajesh shamelessly rips off others tunes and palms them off as his own, rakesh is busy watching dvd's of hollywood movies and make juvenile copies of them .
his son is no better than the father. He miraculosly gets injured before every movie of his is relased or his is saved from some grave danger. All this is reported before the release of his movie. He was supposed to have a torn ligament and could not thus promote jodha akbar but in a few weeks our man is good enough to dance !!!!
