Aditya Chopra scouted far and wide in search of the right girl with an authentic Punjabi look who would successfully pull off a 16-year-old in his next film – Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. After extensive auditions organised by Yash Raj Films, Aditya Chopra found just what he was looking for right in his own backyard.

Yes, Mumbai Mirror has confirmed that Sonam Kapoor will be opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Aditya Chopra’s next. The film, written and directed by Aditya Chopra is a story about a 16-year-old who falls in love wit a 40-year-old man.

According to sources, "Aditya Chopra was very keen on having a tall, fair Punjabi girl for the role opposite SRK. He has been extremely finicky about signing the right girl because he's making his directorial comeback after a gap of eight years."

After all his talent hunts led to a dead end, Aditya Chopra aparantly spoke to Anil Kapoor who was more than happy to have Sonam work with him. So after several meetings Sonam Kapoor is now on board the Yash Raj camp.
