AR Rahman to teach music

He has inaugurated a music conservatory and will induct aspiring musicians to Indian and international music

In a formal Press Conference held in Chennai, AR Rahman has formally launched his latest venture – KM Music Conservatory and KM Symphony Orchestra. Rahman has always aspired to have a symphony orchestra in India. Now with the initialtion of this venture, Rahman hopes to expose aspiring musicians to Indian music as well as world music.

His teaching panel will have eminent musicians heading the courses and activities. Some of the prominent names will include composer and violinist L Subramaniam, Ghulam Mustafa Khan, Dr Sreenivas Krishnan and of course the maestro AR Rahman himself! Khan, who spoke on this occasion says, "My sons and I find great pleasure in being part of this journey."

The formal inauguration of the conservatory will take place in a few months from now. To begin with 150 seats will be available for all students who wish to enroll.
