Cher's 'long night' in Tom Cruise's arms

Singer Cher has spilled the beans on her affair with Tom Cruise, revealing intimate details of their passionate romance. Talking to Oprah Winfrey, the veteran singer admitted she and Cruise enjoyed a romance in the 1980s, and that she spent one particular 'long night' in his arms.

The Believe hitmaker is convinced that despite the 16-year age gap, the couple could have become serious if their hectic work schedules hadn't driven them apart.

They are thought to have met at a White House fund-raising event in the mid-eighties, when Cruise was basking in the success of his hit film Risky Business.

Cher, 39 at that time, is said to have been smitten almost immediately with Cruise, who was a 20-year-old upcoming actor at that time.

"I was crazy about him," The Daily Telegraph quoted Cher, as saying.

"He was shy. He said he felt like such a boob in school and nobody talked to him. We went on a date once for dinner in a New York restaurant and the waitress was from his old school. He told me she never talked to him back in school, but now he was recognised and he got all her attention," she said

"It could have been a great big romance because I was crazy for him," Cher added.
