Pop superstar Madonna prefers her new role as a director to singer because she gets asked questions about her work and not her personal life.According to ananova.com, Madonna is doing promotional work for her upcoming album Hard Candy, but is not happy with the personal questions she is being asked sometimes. However, she is enjoying doing promotional work for her directorial debut Filth and Wisdom.

Speaking to a magazine, she said: "I have a record to promote and that is great, but I loved going to the Berlin Film Festival, it was the first time in my career that no one asked me a personal question."

"When you're a pop star, everyone feels entitled to know what colour your underpants are," she explained."

Hard Candy will be out April 28.
