Rafi, Naushad b'day celebrations
December 24, 1921 was when the singing legend Mohd Rafi was born. And even though he is not with us anymore, he has attained immortality for his singing prowess.
December 25, 1919 was when music maestro Naushad Ali was born in Lucknow. Naushad made his name as one of India's most formidable composers whose works and compositions have entered the hall of fame.
The two legends have worked together for many years. In fact, Naushad was Rafi's mentor. The works of the Naushad-Rafi combine are unparalleled.

Naushad Saab's compositions and Rafi's vocals have become treasures for music connoisseurs to cherish and celebrate. It is for this reason that the The Rafi Foundation and Naushad Academy together have organised birthday celebrations in Mumbai.
Connoisseurs can gather at Rafi Mansion on Rafisaab's 83rd birth anniversary celebrations on December 24 at 10 am IST.
While Naushad's birth anniversary will be celebrated on December 25 at Mysore Association, 393, Bhaudaji Road, Matunga - 400016 at 7 pm IST.
A feast of Naushad-Rafi songs will be followed by dinner. The families of Naushad and Majrooh Sultanpuri will be present and a team of singers led by JP Kakaji will present the musical treat.
