Udhas' Endless Love in English
Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas dishes out his new album and on the menu is Endless Love featuring seven soulful songs. However, what is interesting is that he has been inspired from unusual quarters in the newspaper.
"A newspaper has a page or column dedicated to these young boys and girls who post their messages in there. The messages are very interesting," says Pankaj Udhas.
Almost all newspapers have the agony aunt columns that try to answer questions on love and heartbreak. It was these dilemmas of the lovelorn that got the ghazal singer to come up with some soulful music.
"The best part is that most of them express their feelings by some sort of poetry. It feels nice to see that even the younger generation is expressing themselves through poetry," says Udhas.
Most of Pankaj Udhas' albums have titles in Hindi or Urdu. However, the reason behind an English title for his latest album goes back to his days of youth.
"I grew up listening to one song of Diana Ross called My Endless Love, which made me think of the endless love in the world," says Udhas.
