From television to comic strip
All you couch potatoes now have a new reason to stay addicted to television soaps and sitcoms. You can now stay tuned to your favourite show even if the telly is switched off, because the best of television will now find itself in a comic book format.
So all those fans of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Naya Office Office, Prithviraj Chauhan or Laughter Challenge can now read their favourite series as well.
Vice-President Star Merchandising, Nanette D'Sa, "It's a breezy read through. You can use your imagination."
And soon we'll have Tulsi, Parvati and the rest of the 'saas-bahus' being immortalised among the pages of a comic book.
D'sa says, "We will be coming out with a serialised version of all the sagas including those of Tulsi and Parvati and Kasturi."
But will a 'saas-bahu' drama have the same impact as a book? The audiences are divided on this question.
Maybe the comics are meant to spread the message that it is perhaps time to switch off the telly and read instead.
