Is Mreenal Deshraj out of work?
Mreenal Deshraj may have earned money and fame as Shipra in Kaahin to Hoga. But being associated with the character you play comes with a huge price. And the actress is learning it the hard way. Mreenal, who is a vamp on the popular television show, says she's getting a lot of offers but has been turning them down.
Because of her onscreen image, only negative roles are coming her way. "I don't like the trend of being stereotyped in any particular genre. As an actor I'd like to exploit my potential and try out various aspects of acting," she says.
Of course the actress is hoping people (and producers too) would see beyond her villainous streak. She continues, "I am glad people have accepted and loved my negative act. But I think I might try out something new now."
Apparently she is quite comfortable with a lot of other genres, especially comedy. It seems she's done some rib-tickling plays, which not many know of.
Well, Mreenal it would probably be a good thing to let Ekta know about your off-screen talents, wouldn't it?
