Ishmeet cremated with state honours
Ludhiana, the home town of Ishmeet Singh, mourned the death of the singing sensation as he was cremated with full state honors on Thursday. Thousands of friends and fans were present to say final goodbye.
Nineteen-year-old Ishmeet's body was brought to India on Tuesday from Maldives. Medical officers, who conducted his post mortem, confirmed drowning as the cause of death.
"Ishmeet died due to asphyxia. Water filled his lungs and windpipe, due to which he died," said Dr Harvinder Singh, SMO, Civil Hospital, Ludhiana.
However, shocked family members are still struggling to come to terms with Ishmeet's sudden demise.
"There could be some sort of a conspiracy against him that led to his untimely death. We want the matter to be investigated at a higher level," Ishmeet’s uncle Charankamal Singh said.
Ishmeet was cremated with full state honors at the city's Model Town crematorium, and even as family members struggled to come to terms with reality, those who had guided him along his musical journey kept fond memories of him.
"It seems the voice of India has been silenced," Pujnabi folk singer Hansraj Hans at the funeral.

Its not only me who is sad over the death of ishmeet, rather the whole indus valley (sindh) is in tears.
