Lata Mangeshkar on Voice of India
Ishmeet and Harshit, the two finalists of the reality show Amul Star Voice of India will fight it out for the title this weekend. What will make the episode more special will be the presence of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, who will present the winner's trophy.
Producer / director of the show, Gajendrra Siingh, commented, "It's a great honour since it has been my life long ambition to have Lataji endorse the show. I've pursued her for nearly 12 years to come on my show. It's finally a dream come true! Despite her views on biased SMS voting by the public she has agreed to be a part of the event only because she strongly believes that the show upholds the traditions of true music."
Joining her to support the finalists will be a host of stars and celebrities from both Bollywood and TV.
When quizzed about Lata's personal favourite amongst the two finalists – Ishmeet and Harshit, she simply smiled said, "I'm so fond of both that I can't make a choice between them."
The veteran advised the contestants to sing original compositions over pre-recorded Hindi film songs since that will give a true indication of their talent.
Thrilled to meet his idol in person, Ishmeet emoted, "My heart is beating so fast… I still can't believe that she blessed us and gave us many tips to be better singers, better human beings, especially on how to handle fame and failure."
"Her blessings are so precious. I'm so thrilled to have become a finalist or else I would never have had the good fortune of spending time with her," exclaimed Harshit.
