'No saas-bahu sagas for me'
Television actor and anchor Mona Singh, who shot to fame as the nerdy, bespectacled Jassi on TV, is making a conscious effort to stay away from regular soap operas based on family dramas.
"Nothing as refreshing and challenging as Jassi... is coming my way. Besides, these days whenever we switch on the television, we only get to see saas-bahu (mother-in-law/daughter-in-law) sagas. I don't want to do all that and the oodles of make-up and fights are just not for me," Mona told IANS on phone from Mumbai.
There are, however, chances that Mona would be seen in a serial produced by her beau and TV actor Karan Oberoi's recently launched production house Artistic Unlimited. Mona has been quite unable to shed the image of Jassi, the character she played with aplomb in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi. But she isn't complaining.
"Jassi's image doesn't irritate me, I don't mind it. In fact, it was a beautiful role. I will always be ready to do such a role again."
