REVIEW: Money Hai Toh Honey Hai

The question is, will Govinda eventually become the next Dev Anand?

An extremely old Govinda pretending to be in his late 20s (reminding you of Dev Anand), a Prem Chopra (remember the famous villain?) trying to be funny with his silly antics, and a useless as usual Upen Patel who can even make Ravi Kissen look admirable. That's one thing that you'll realise after watching this flick.

What's it all about

Kumar Mangat must've been utterly crazy to have produced this one after the immensely disappointing Haal-e-dil [READ REVIEW] but then some people never learn. Directed by Ganesh Acharya, Money Hai Toh... has everything that a sensible set of audience would not want – 'done to death' sexual innuendos, lines with double meaning, Govinda trying to speak English and be hip, Govinda doing his matkas and jhatkas (which we LIKE), Govinda trying to be a boy in his late twenties (already mentioned), Hannsika Motwani, scantily clad women, Ganesh Acharya shaking his belly, a lot of Bhojpuri dialogue delivery, Ravi Kissen (WOW), jokes that have ceased to be funny in 1950, you name it and there, you got it!

Money Hai Toh Honey Hai is about this one big businessman Jaiswal who has become mad with age, played by Prem Chopra. His lucky number happens to be SIX. So, he decides to leave his entire property to six people whose phone numbers he dreams up somehow. Needless to say, these six are Govinda – a spoilt rich kid, Upen Patel – an aspiring model, Celina Jaitley – a struggling designer who wants to make designer clothes for the common man, Aftab Shivadasani – an advertising professional whose lines never sell, Manoj Bajpai – a common man who never loses hope and Hannsika Motwani – the reigning queen of TV soaps who's sick of her bahu avatar and wants to become the sexy siren in Bollywood.

Hi snigdha,

this is a very famous site. Lot of us/people visit these site for film news and other information. So any person who is writing an article or a review has immense responsibility towards us/people. He or she should take a little more effort before writing something. Because all of us on the other side are going to believe what these people write. Her review might be funny but it is not cohesive nor does it flow right. What particularly upsets me are certain comments which she has made about the producer/actors. She is telling upen patel is useless, she is talking about the producer saying " some people never learn" . You cannot write like that. You have to tell me why upen patel is useless . Are his acting skills bad, dialogue delivery is not correct what is useless about him ? Give me specific information. Snigdha you are telling me that i should write reviews myself than commenting on her review. If we go by this logic then the person who has written this review should probably stop writing reviews and make films instead. So the logic that you are saying does not make sense.
i don't have to write film review because i am not the one who is working in buzz 18 as the post of a film critic. It is suranjnana nandi, who is working. It is her job to write film reviews . So if some of us think that her review is not good, it's nothing wrong.
we are all working in different fields and all of us are expected to do a good job where ever we are working. If we make a mistake then people do criticize us.
i have been working in the media industry for couple of years now and i know how much effort it takes to make a film/program and it definitely pains if some tom dick n harry with no qualification/skill or the basic understanding starts writing reviews or criticizes actors/directors/producers.
i am not saying don't write or don't criticize but from next time do it with little more effort. This is all i am asking. Is this too much ?

I think it is an immensely funny review. Please spare us the pseudo intellectualism of the 'acid's of the world, as the name suggests, acid has nothing but 'gyaan' to dole out to the world. If you really know how to write a good review, why don't you write one huh? Or did you get turned doen by publications and sites everywhere? I don't know who this nandi is, but i love reading her stuff. Sour grapes mr acid!

I totally agree with acid...Reviewers should have some standards while writing a review. Its not a scribbling on your personal diary so please first read what you have written before publishing it. Just giving out the story and adding your rambling is not a film review.

Dear suranjnana nandi,

firstly , let's review the review you have written. You sound thoroughly confused. It looks like you have just filled up pages just for the sake of writing. I mean who writes in a review " aftab is decent" ? Bolo kaun likhta hain aisa ? Take the line " what is also somewhat funny " phew..!!!! Why do you guys review films when you don't have the skill nor the qualifications to review films. Your grammar is also not very correct ( nor that mine is right but your's has to be ) .
it takes a lot to make a movie so please don't discourage viewers from watching films. Let them decide how the movie is. I think " money hain to honey hain is a good film , definitely watchable " please before you write another review just read what you have written over n over again before giving it for final print. Forgive me if i am very harsh but writing a film review takes lot more effort.

A very sad film with poor direction..None of the actors were able to impress..Govinda used to be good for his expressions..With age he has lost his expressions also..Ppl go for govinda movies so that they ll get to laugh,,but unfortunately this movie will make you cry for the money you have spent on it..

I saw this movie and really think govinda needs to decide where his priorities lie - bollywood or politics. Cause as of now he seems to be muddling both of them up. Come on man.... Choose already... People depend on you in both industries... Do us some justice!

What!!! What do you mean by non-multiples audiences liking sexual innuendoes? Huh?

2nd class actor hein to 3rd class mp bhi hein! Congress possibly just returning favour for helping in elections. No wonder they replaced the film industry supremo with sharmila tagore so that they could also control bollywood by possibly rehancing the career of a 3rd class overfed actor actor who could not be a proper member of parliament.

Don't be rude or interrupt others who are having a conversation. Ethnic slurs, personal insults and abuses are rather uncool. Criticise, but know where to draw the line. No point putting in personal details or links, we won't publish them. Try and write in English and please, stick to the point!
