Flower power and Asha Bhosle

The singer's compilation has the best songs in Bollywood's history

The second CD focuses more on the latter part of the decade. So songs from The Great Gambler (1978), Mr Natwarlal (1979) and Baton Baton Mein (1979) make their way into this CD.

What strikes us the most about this compilation is the sheer spectrum of the themes explored.

The Epicureanism of the age gets reflected in songs like Dum Maro Dum and Piya Tu while at the other end are songs as innocent as Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuchh Kaha and O Saathi Re.

Also when you go through the playlist on the back of the CD, you suddenly realise that Asha Bhosle has a rather strange distinction of being the singer whose songs have been most remixed. And yes, almost all of them are in this compilation.

So if the '70s were your favourite time, we'd suggest you go right ahead and buy this CD. You'll know just why Asha Bhosle is called the Bollywood Queen… and we wouldn't restrict it to only to the '70s.
