MUSIC REVIEW: RACE is a mishmash

The music for the multi-starrer leaves a lot to be desired

The music of Race has been 'designed' to suit the story of the film. But to be subject to 16 tracks with lyrics that make you cringe is not exactly one's idea of music. Be it Dekho Nashe Mein or Race Saanson Mein or even Zara Zara Touch Me (huh?), the lyrics seem bizarre to say the least.

Having said that, one must also mention that these are the very songs that may as well turn out to be chartbusters. As a colleague very rightly pointed out these tracks are, what can be called, 'music video tracks'. Hammer them on the television and internet 24/7 and they will grow on you. But then again, there will always be another set of songs that will be ready to replace this one.

Thus Race falls into this 'music mill culture' and will not necessarily have too long a shelf life. So you have two options – enjoy it for a while and chuck it away a few weeks later or don't buy it in the first place.

Don't be rude or interrupt others who are having a conversation. Ethnic slurs, personal insults and abuses are rather uncool. Criticise, but know where to draw the line. No point putting in personal details or links, we won't publish them. Try and write in English and please, stick to the point!
