I was sitting at a dinner table the other day and my good friend Vidya (Balan) happened to be there as well and she's told me that she's thinking of getting photographer Atul Kasbekar's talent management company Bling to manage her endorsements career. Good move, if you tell me, considering she's not seen in as many advertisements as say Kareena and Priyanka.

And talking of Priyanka (Chopra), she tells me that she's in the midst of finalizing a purchase of a new car, a BMW, I believe. She didn't mention though, if she'll actually make the purchase once she gets
back from America. She took off to Bangkok last night and from there, after a few days of rest and relaxation, she'll air dash it to the sun kissed beaches of Miami where she's going to shake her booty.

And now since I uttered her name, Kareena, who's going off to Australia for shooting, was in the midst of a fashion shoot the other day, and I vouch that she did a fantastic job and was totally professional (unlike other actresses, who fuss and crib and take hours to get dressed). But the moment Saif (Ali Khan) walked in she hurried everyone up in an eager bid to wrap up the shoot! I thought that was so cute.

Remember UK's eccentric tycoon Richard Branson was in Mumbai last week to ensure his Virgin Mobile made its virginal entry into the Indian telecommunications market with ease? Well, even while it continues to tint 'innocent' newspapers in Mumbai with a red light, let me tell you it was so good to see such a wealthy, well-travelled and privileged man to be so understanding, when the jacket he was to wear for the launch didn't fit his British proportions during the fittings. He patiently smiled and asked that it be altered to his size. Then, he even autographed his autobiography for the people who made the boo-boo.

Speaking of class acts, even as Gautam Gambhir capitalized on the media making his hair cut out outing to be the tamasha of the decade in Delhi earlier this week, I am happy to say that my good friends Sachin and Anjali Tendulkar spent a quiet evening dining with Brian Lara in Mumbai that same day without even drawing any attention to them. They ate dinner, had a few laughs and sauntered out of the five star restaurant, deep in discussion.

Okay, I've been too nice, that's enough! Here's some fresh honey straight from the beehive! I got to know of this businessman, who used to run an airline which flopped miserably but who rose from the ashes again by flying on the wings of another airline, and this former Miss India's little backstage tryst some moons ago in the beginning of this year. After a press conference, where the lady was the Master of Ceremonies, she was spotted canoodling in the arms of this business guy backstage, even as the press and his wife were just a heartbeat away, out front! Three guesses who I'm talking about?
