Finally, Rani moves out
It's official. Rani Mukerji has finally moved out of her old Yari Road residence, lock, stock and barrel. The actress and her family (consisting mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law, niece, with two dogs) have been living in the rather middle-class neighbourhood for decades now.
Rani in her many interviews had mentioned how attached she was to this pad, having started out from here. For a few years now however, the actress has been doing up her swank new house in upscale Juhu. The interiors of this house had been done by Twinkle Khanna. The plush property is situated close to the iconic Prithvi Café and the actress has a whole host of industry veterans as her neighbours.
For months now, the Mukerjis have been shifting, piece by little piece, into the new home. The kitchen is already functional and now the liveried staff (yes, she has a battery of domestic helps in two sets of uniforms with RM embroidered on the chest) has been seen scurrying around carting pots and pans, giant plasma screen TVs and the like.
Rani's move comes at a rather interesting time. Just a few weeks ago, Aditya Chopra's divorce with his wife Payal was made official. There have been fresh rumours about the actress finally tying the knot with Aditya, while a tabloid recently reported on how Aamir Khan was overheard teasing Rani about the impending marriage, in public. There have also been reports about Aditya Chopra moving out of the family residence at Juhu-Vile Parle, with his personal and prized collection of DVDs, accessories et al. He has officially moved to the Chopras' Vikas Park residence in Juhu. It is just a matter of coincidence that Rani's new home is now a stone's throw from Vikas Park.
