Mithun doesn't promote son's film
These days, almost every single reality show has become a platform for actors to promote their upcoming film. So, can Mithun Chakraborty be far behind?
The actor's son Mimoh has been in the waiting for four long years to have his debut film released. Finally, when his film Jimmy's release date was announced (April 18, 2008), it was natural that most of the TV channels would want Papa Mithun to accompany his son Mimoh at every programme he attended. But to everyone's surprise, Mithun refused them all.
When quizzed about it, Mithun replied, "I don't want my son to piggyback on his father's popularity. I want him to make his mark as an individual. I will not accompany him to any TV show and appeal to my fans to come and see his film." Bad move one may call. With Jimmy's promos looking totally dated and the film report 'thanda' in the trade circuit, an appeal by the old Bengal tiger would have got the film at least a few footfalls from his most loyal fans when released.
Well, we wish Mimoh all the best!

I think its a very wise choice that mithun has made. I mean, after all, he didnt have anyone to piggyback on to success. And memoh (who by the way is absolutely nothing like his dad) needs to carve his own niche. It isnt about making money. Its about prooving one's self worth.
ooh... Maybe memoh should start dating a b'wood hottie to gain some publicity not unlike another bollywood bombed kapoor!
