SHOCKING! Deepika's voice dubbed?
Finally, after all that hoopla, the big Diwali weekend is over. Saawariya and Om Shanti Om have hit the screens and everyone's gushing about Ranbir and Deepika. Of course, I completely loved Om Shanti Om but couldn't help noticing one tiny detail that's missed all film critics' notice. Deepika somehow simply doesn't sound herself. A certain someone who has known Deepika from her modelling days tells me that she has a rather nondescript voice, which is not exactly suited to the big screen. So Farah Khan has got her voice dubbed by someone else. But the audiences aren't quite taken in by the dubbed voice either. And from what I am given to believe, some of her dramatic scenes have left parts of the movie hall in splits.
Needless to say, Farah isn't talking about the dubbed voice. But then again, no one advertises things like these and so far I haven't come across a journalist who has asked her this question. So I guess till we get the 'official version', you will probably have to take my word for it.

Okay so this comes all the way from pakistan but honestly? I knew something was amiss the first time i heard deepka on om shanti om & compared her voice with that of her on coffee with karan. I knew there was a definate difference but no one would believe me when i insisted that the voice had to be dubbed. And it really isn't all that astonishing cuz, um, yes, her voice isn't all that refined.
Thats not surprising. Deepika had acted in a kannada movie 'aishwarya' (yup! Oso is not her screen debut), which was a hit last year. Her voice was dubbed in that movie too, though its her mother tongue.
