Why is Hrithik Roshan sulking?

Apparently, the actor is tired with his father's domineering ways.

Now for all you folks out there who felt Hrithik Roshan was the model son, this will come as a bit of a surprise. Trouble has been brewing in the Roshan household between the two generations. And no it’s not between the women of the household. Apparently Pinky Roshan had a very turbulent relationship with her mother-in-law so from day one she’s maintained a smooth relationship with her bahu Susanne. Shockingly, the villain of the piece is Rakesh Roshan. Daddy dearest has always kept a tight grip on Hrithik’s career. Apparently, after Dhoom 2, Papa Roshan decided that any film with Hrithik would be a co-production with FilmKraft (Rakesh’s own company). This in turn led to a bit of a vacuum in Hrithik’s career. Hrithik realized his father was turning down roles or working out partnership deals without even consulting Hrithik. This really miffed Roshan Junior but he tried to keep his cool.

Now apparently, Hrithik has even turned down Aditya Chopra. Although Hrithik has cited date problems as the usual excuse, the real reason is Roshan Sr’s insistence on being a partner in all forthcoming projects. Though Hrithik feels he owes his father big time, he also reveres Adi after Dhoom 2. But Roshan Jr has obeyed papa dearest and completely disregarded his own heart. But according to sources this has left Hrithik embittered and disgruntled. And now, even though they continue to live under the same roof, father and son barely exchange smiles.

And to think I always thought the ammas of Bollywood were a domineering lot.

It's good for hrithik to stick to his father's banner. After all, whatever solo hits he has had (dhoom 2 was not his solo film) have been under his father's direction. So it's best if he sticks to that. Else his career will die faster...
