Roma (Amrita Singh) and Reema (Juhi Chawla) are sisters and as different as chalk and cheese. Roma is glamorous, very competitive in nature and is spoilt to boot by her mother. Reema is her father’s daughter and is very lovable and gentle by nature. Reema secretly loves the handsome and wealthy Ravi Saxena (Jackie Shroff). But Roma goes out of her way to attract Ravi’s attention and makes him fall for her. Their wedding is fixed much to Reema’s silent horror.

On the eve of the wedding, Roma gets an offer to star in a film and thinking that getting married will be a wrong move for her budding career at that point in time, she runs away. The bridegroom is left at the altar without a bride. Ravi persuades Reema to marry him as he does not want to cancel the wedding. At first, Reema is not too keen as she does not want him to accept her on the rebound, but her father persuades her otherwise. The marriage takes place and Ravi and Reema set up house together.

Just when the couple get closer, a few weeks after marriage, Roma returns, with a failed filmy career. And Roma is quite unable to see her sister happy with her ex-fiancé. She moves into their home and does her best to grab Ravi’s attention. Does Roma succeed in breaking her sister’s marriage? What does Ravi do? Will he go back to the woman he used to love? Does he regret his hasty marriage to Reema?
