Raj (Hrithik Roshan), Pooja (Rani Mukerji) and Tina (Kareena Kapoor) are childhood friends. The young Raj is fascinated with the bubbly Tina and is not quite aware of the quiet Pooja who likes him a lot. Raj and his parents shift to London.
Raj is very keen on being in touch with Tina and writes to her by email. But Tina just does not care and makes no effort to reply. While Pooja is keen on communicating with Raj, she rightly feels that he will not be interested in writing to her. So she replies to his mail to Tina and signs in her friend’s name. This is the beginning of fifteen years of emails between Raj and Pooja-in-Tina’s name. Raj is in love with his memories of Tina and this continues in the emails. Now his family plans a trip to India and he is all excited to meet his childhood sweetheart.
A vary Pooja confesses the truth to her friend Tina and the latter agrees to pretend that it was she who had been sending the emails. The moment Tina and Raj set eyes on each other, they feel a strong attraction. Now Tina is all ready to give him the attention he craves. The two of them get engaged, completely unaware of Pooja’s angst. But Raj slowly discovers that Tina is not quite what he had imagined after reading her emails.
