Pyaar Ke Side Effects

Sid (Rahul Bose) is a DJ and is a happy-go-lucky person. He and Trisha (Mallika Sherawat) have been living together for three years when suddenly one fine day, Trisha decides that they should get married. Sid is shaken when he hears this as he is not ready for commitment. He’s in love with his girlfriend but is not ready to take the one step that will make him lose his independence completely, or so he thinks.

The film shows the hilarious side to this situation as the two keep arguing about marriage. How much ever he runs away from the situation, Sid does not have much of a choice in this as he understands that he does not want to give up Trisha. So he finally agrees to the marriage.

The next hurdle is meeting Trisha’s parents. Retired General Mallik (Sharad Saxena) is a very strict man and is quite clear that he does not want his daughter to wed an aging DJ. But he does not tell his daughter this as she has already run away from one wedding that her father had fixed. So, he does his best to browbeat Sid and succeeds, mainly because, the latter realises that he cannot compete with Trisha’s ex-fiancé’s wealth.

The two break off and Trisha gets engaged to Vivek yet again. But is she happy? How can her father guarantee that she will not run out of the wedding once again? Does Sid ever get over his fear of commitment?
