Poonam’s (Amrita Rao) parents die when she is very young and she is brought up by her chacha (Alok Nath) and chachi (Seema Biswas). While her uncle is very fond of her, her aunt does not like her as the latter feels that Poonam is much more attractive than her own daughter, Rajni (Amrita Prakash).

Poonam is so beautiful and graceful that matchmaker Bhagatji volunteers to find a groom for her. He finds one in the guise of Prem (Shahid Kapur), the son of a businessman (Anupam Kher) hailing from Delhi. To begin with, Prem is hesitant to accept a marriage proposal as he feels he is too young. But he agrees to meet Poonam at his father’s insistence.

Once the meeting occurs, there is no looking back and the young couple gets engaged. They are to be married six months later. So what happens during the six months? Do they get close? Does the story have quite the happy ending it appears to head towards? Find out on Zee TV.
